Dear Bailey BOY Bean,
I’m halfway to getting to hold you.
As much as I love feeling you
kick poke me, twist, turn, and flail about, listening to your heartbeat and seeing you on the sonogram screen, I’m pretty sure getting to hold you in my arms and looking at your tiny, perfect face in person will be be the best thing I have ever done.
I can’t wait to watch your dad love you. Read to you, rock you and teach you everything there is to know about technology and the Jaguars and video games. He’s really excited to meet you! You should have seen his face light up every time he talked about his SON yesterday! You’re really gonna love him, too- he’s the best!
I can’t wait for you to meet all of the people who ask about you every day. You’ve got some amazing grandparents, aunts & uncles, and friends who are like family who can’t wait to love on you (almost as much as me!).
I’m sorry for the Hot Pockets, french fries, and cereal that you had to live off of for your first 12 weeks of life. Also, I’m sorry for squishing you while I try to paint my toenails.
I hope you’ve come to know my voice…well, not my singing voice, but my talking voice. I also hope you love Otis as much as us–he’s really cute, too!
There’s no way for me to put into words how much I already love you and am so grateful for you.
Stay squirmy and healthy in there,
What is baby up to at 20 weeks?
Our little guy came in at 12 ounces in yesterday’s sonogram!
He’s also about 11 inches from head to heel!
He’s swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system.
He also now has the ability to hiccup, is establishing a scalp pattern for his hair, and his brain is working overtime– he’s beginning to experience his 5 senses!
How is mama feeling?
I’m up a total of 8.5 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight.
Still going strong with wanting to, I’m just getting physically limited in what I can do: running is getting uncomfortable (but I still do it– I’m just a bit slower than I used to be), burpees are really slow for me– I smoke my arms and shoulders way more than normal because of this, almost all core work is out of the question, I’m not jumping as high on the box jumps as I used to, I have to use an inclined bench for all supine movements, etc….
3 Fit Camp (boot camp-style) classes each week.
1-2 walks (I generally tune into a podcast and power walk for about 3 miles)
1 lifting and/or cardio session
Going sort-of well. I’ll have 2 or 3 great nights of sleep then have 2 or 3 where I never really go to sleep, can’t get comfortable and my mind races all night. I’m contemplating buying a body pillow because it’s taking me longer and longer to get comfortable each night (anyone have any good recommendations??)
Yes-lots! Little Boy Bailey is really active. I feel all kinds of kicks and lots of body rotation. I can feel movement ALL over the place (especially when I’m laying down to go to sleep at night! 😉 )
We had our 20-week anatomy scan yesterday (Wednesday) and the Bailey Bean is growing like crazy!! He is a busy little guy who would not stay still long enough to get a good picture of his face! He is measuring perfectly for his length and weight (a tad on the big and long end of things!!). We saw his brain down to the arches of his tiny feet in the sonogram and everything is perfect and healthy!
Round Ligament Pain
Round-the-clock abdominal soreness (it’s the feeling after doing a TON of crunches without actually doing the crunches)
Cravings: ALL the sandwiches (egg and bacon sandwiches on Cinnamon Raisin Ezekial Bread, especially!), ALL the citrus (I drink a sparkling grapefruit juice–sparkling water and grapefruit juice– and eat an orange for a snack almost every day–see below!), sour candy, fresh, crisp vegetables (yay- finally!), chips
Mood Swings (just not as often as they used to be)
Looking Forward To:
Moving (very, very soon!)
