I woke up this morning with THE STRONGEST craving for an egg sandwich. This is especially weird because I’ve haven’t had one, much less thought about one, in about 2 years. I had an early oil change appointment (just what everyone wants to do on their Friday morning!) and did not have the ingredients nor the time to throw together an egg sandwich. I blended a green smoothie together and rushed out the door.
I sat at the oil change place and drew the progression of blood through the heart (isn’t this what everyone does while waiting for their oil to be changed?), chatted with my mom on the phone, wrote out a grocery list, and planned my gym workout for the day….and I still couldn’t stop thinking about a big, juicy, protein-y egg sandwich.
On the way home, I hit up Publix for the weekly groceries then zoomed home to throw together the, now much-anticipated, egg sandwich. A toasted Ezekial Cinnamon Raisin english muffin with a bit of melty, runny butter slathered on each side, a slice of warm, Canadian Bacon, 2 eggs, and a drizzle of honey over the entire sandwich. I’m pretty sure that Jesus serves these in heaven.
I’m not kidding, I licked my plate. Thank goodness no one was there to see it.
After breakfast was cleaned up, I caught up on a bunch of work stuff until about 2pm.
I had anticipated heading to the gym after work to get in some back squat and double under practice (among the rest of my planned workout) but decided to do a bunch of housework instead. I won’t bore you with a list of all that I did, but I threw on my heart-rate monitor and worked for a solid 2 and 1/2 hours. I clocked a pretty high heart-rate about 4 times over the couple of hours and burned 450 calories. Workouts don’t have to be in the gym! (Most of the stuff I did required me to run up and down our flight of stairs multiple times, climb up on something to dust off the ceiling fan blades, and move heavy stuff)
I just finished pre making some cauliflower pizza crust for tonight’s dinner and am very much looking forward to eating pizza and relaxing with Mark.
Now for the ANNOUNCEMENT: GO Personal Training, the fitness company that I rave about and love so much, has moved to a new location with a much bigger facility, more equipment, and some new stuff in the pipeline. TOMORROW, Saturday August 17th, is the grand opening party! You can casually come check out the new facility, grab a snack, ask as many questions as you’d like, learn about the programs and classes offered, and hang out with a bunch of fun people. It all kicks off at 5:30pm at 1741 Dobbs Road, unit #13 (about 2 doors down from the old gym location). See you there!!!
