No surprises here, but it is hard for me to work out as much I would like. I don’t want having a baby to be an excuse for skipping the workouts, though. I aim to fit in 5 gym workouts per week. I prioritize my health because I want to be active, healthy, and happy as an example to my son, but also to keep up with him!
With a busy 7 month old, I’m usually good for about 3 gym sessions per week. For my mental sanity, it’s good for me to have a back up plan and still do something active an additional 2 times per week. I often do driveway workout, Baby Strong workouts, and go for runs but sometimes I just want someone to tell me what to do…and sometimes it’s raining or the pollen is causing my eyes to itch so badly that I can barely open my front door without clawing my eyeballs out.
Because of my affiliation with Fit Approach as a Sweat Pink ambassador, I was given the opportunity to review a new line of BeFit supplements as well as the BeFit 30 Day Fat Burn video series on YouTube. I especially love the 10-minute workouts — they’re my go-tos when I’m tired or have absolutely no motivation to work out.
BeFit really caters to my “Type-A personality” because they have a pre-planned calendar to follow– which I loved. On the day I was feeling like I needed an additional workout (or I didn’t work out in the gym as intended), I just did whatever was scheduled on the calendar. I did Day 3, Day 13, Day 20, and Day 22. They were all awesome– I got sweaty and got some endorphins flowing–both of which were exactly what I needed every time!
In addition to the BeFit Youtube workouts, I was sent the vanilla whey isolate and casein protein — it also comes in chocolate. You could say that I’m a protein powder snob. I like my protein to be clean and free of artificial garbage, lots of added sugar and unnecessary ingredients. This one fits the bill. You get 22 grams of whey/casein protein for only 100 calories. It’s also gluten free, non-GMO and sugar free. I wasn’t stoked about the use of carrageenan, though. It’s sweetened with stevia (yay!) and it’s not overpowering or overly sweet — just a nice, clean vanilla flavor that mixes very well with my daily green smoothie! Even though I almost never take any type of “pre workout” supplement, I tried BeFit’s Pre-Workout and it made me feel like I could work out for 6 hours. The fruit punch flavor was not my favorite, but it wasn’t bad either. I was surprised that I liked the Pre-Workout supplement, although, because I’m breastfeeding, I won’t be taking again for a little while. It doesn’t make you feel jittery, just really, really energetic.
Speaking of jittery, I’m really sensitive to almost everything I take, but the BeFit Burn had me feeling all kinds of wired….which is funny because the product page says “Fat Burner Without the Jitters.” It has quality ingredients (cinnamon, green tea leaf extract, probiotics and capsicum), so I’m not sure why it made me feel so all-over-the-place.
