It’s almost Friday which means that my brain is a little mushy…so today’s post is a simple one.
Mark made me a kale/spinach smoothie for breakfast:
about 1 cup of kale
about 2 cups of spinach
1/2 of a banana
about 4 frozen strawberries
about 1/2 cup of frozen mixed berries
about 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
It was nutritious and delicious– what else can you ask for?
I knew I needed to eat some protein but had no appetite so I drank some roasted dandelion root tea and called it a morning.
Once at work, I based my day around lunch with my mom:
Now that my parents are almost empty-nesters, my mom has time to do fun things with me…like go to lunch in the middle of the day on a Thursday. It’s great.
(There was a brief period of my life that I had blonde hair. Of the people who know this about me, I get asked for pictures ALL the time. So, here’s one for ya!) Me and my mom circa 2007:
Weird, huh? I have naturally medium brown colored hair, so it still takes me by surprise to see myself with such a light color!
Anyway…back to lunch…we went to a taco shop a couple of blocks from my work. We sat on the patio, ate taco salads, and talked about book recommendations, what my 4 siblings are up to, workout ideas, KitchenAid mixers, my family’s new baby goats, canning and Winter Park (a city outside of Orlando). I thoroughly enjoyed my mom date.
The rest of my day dragged until I made a trip to Marshalls for some nude-colored heels after work. Shoe shopping always goes way too fast–so many shoes, so little time (and money-ha!) 😉
Unfortunately I had no luck and went home empty-handed.
I came home, changed out of my work clothes and now Mark and I are headed to his Dad’s house for a family dinner.
