It’s My 100th!!!!!!

September 4, 2013

Soooooo…THIS is my 100th blog post!

It feels good to be 100 posts old! šŸ™‚

I haven’t posted in a while, though, so I feel like there’s a lot to catch up on.

For starters, 3 day weekends are THE BEST! I spent mine with Mark’s out-of-town family at the beach and around town. (I also spent a lot of time fretting…but more on that later.)

Mark’s dad and his wife just bought and moved into a gorgeous, new house. They had the WHOLE family over this weekend to check it out. Of course I hung out in the kitchen most of the time! šŸ™‚

During my episodes of fret, I needed to stay busy, so I baked. Otis looked lonely in his cage all by himself, so I sat him on the counter and we sang to Michael Buble and I only burnt my arm on the oven once. It was fun!

My gym had some open gym time this weekend so I took full advantage. Toes-to-bar, push press, and kettlebell swings destroyed my arms! Check out my workout here!!!

We spent some time on the beach soaking up the pretty weather

I even snuck in some handstand practice…and I’m TOTALLY getting the hang of my handstands! Next up, the handstand walk!

...and my favorite part, relaxing with a cold drink. A cold, green drink that is! :)

Next, remember this post that I wrote in late July about decreasing my body measurements???Ā Yeah…I’ve let go of that. I dialed-in my eating and ramped up my workouts and I feel amazing.Ā I wrote about this last week but I’m in such a healthy, accepting place with my body now that to actually take my measurements and figure all that “size” stuff out, would be moving backward. So, just as follow-up, I will not be completing my self-imposed “August Challenge” because I’m strong, healthy, and I feel great—I don’t care how many inches around my biceps, thighs, or waist are.

Last, most of you reading this are my Facebook friends, which means that you saw my status last night announcing that I passed my American College of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer (ACSM-CPT) exam. I could not be more happy, excited, and relieved. This is what all of that fretting was about all weekend. BUT, I got word today that I officially PASSED! It’s a really neat thing, not only because I’m now a certified personal trainer, but because I put quite a bit of sweat, tears, time, money, and energy into this course; so to see it all pay off is incredibly fulfilling! It was the largest and most important step in attaining my career change goalĀ (well, besides the landing-the-job part), so mission accomplished!!!

Cheers to happiness and good things to come!
