Wow. I can’t believe another month has flown by. How is it about to be July?!
Life has been moving very quickly these past couple of weeks, but there have been lots of awesome things going on!
The more everyday stuff:
-Mark and I both completed 30 days of no alcohol
-I somehow busted up my knee (I’m doing much better– but it felt TERRIBLE for a solid week plus!)
-We are still committed to eating a meat-free meal at least once per week
-We are spending some money and energy making yard and home improvements (nothing major– it all just adds up over time- ya know?!)
-Hudson had 2 more teeth pop through his gums, so he is eating ALL THE FOOD!
-Hudson is now pulling up and standing on everything!
The bigger stuff:
-We celebrated Mark’s 30th birthday. Food, lots of cake, wine, and friends & family rang in his big day. It was a huge success and a very fun celebration!
-We took a week’s vacation to the Abacos! Mark’s family rented a big ‘ole house and 12 of us spent the week boating, eating, tanning, and having a fun time away. Internet and wifi were scarce. There are almost no cars on the particular island we were on and you eat fresh conch fritters at every meal. It was mostly amazing. Hudson was totally off his normal routine and schedule so sleep was also very scarce…so by the end of the week, I was a walking zombie. I really enjoyed our time away but am incredibly grateful to be back in a routine (and eating vegetables!). – One of the fun parts about having our own house has been putting exactly the things we want in our house. The process has been slow (apparently Mark and I have expensive and particular tastes, especially when it comes to furniture!) but it’s finally coming together. 2 weeks ago we made our long-awaited patio furniture purchase (we try our best to not take on debt since being debt-free-besides our house and vehicle–for a few years now!) and we could’t love our outside space more! We can’t wait for football season– friends, Jacksonville Jaguars, and a comfy spot to watch the game– we’ve dreamed of all of this for a while!-My sister got married and moved to Puerto Rico. Her husband is a doctor and is finishing his residency in PR so they’re spending a year there! While we already miss her, we’re super happy for their new adventure and for a reason to visit Puerto Rico! 🙂
Cheers to a busy but great summer!
P.S. I really love being involved in this beauty box and thought I would share that they’re giving a way a year’s subscription (worth over $1000!). To read more and enter the giveaway, check them out at indigobeaux.com!
