This Week’s Meals & Moves

November 3, 2014

Hey friends!

I’m just back from a quick trip to Atlanta to see my sweet grandpa get married. I rarely get to spend time with all 4 of my siblings and our respective spouses so we had a great time catching up, picking on each other and eating. There was lots of eating…which is exactly why I’m (VERY!) excited to stay busy at the gym this week.

MOVES:

Here are 2 of the workouts I’m planning to do in addition to my normal Fit Camp workouts:

  • Push Press work: I recently had a minor accident while doing some heavy push presses and, mentally, I have not been able to get back to heavy barbell lifts above my head. I’m trying to push through this so doing high reps with light weight will hopefully help…this is what I have planned:

3 rounds:

25 push presses with 35 lb barbell

15 push presses with 45 lb barbell

5 push presses with 55 lb barbell

  • Sprint Tabata (20 seconds of all-out, running-as-fast-as-possible and 10 seconds of walking for 8 rounds) followed by some skill practice

15-12-9-6-3 Reps For Time Of:

Kipping handstand push ups (I do mine with 1 ab mat)

Kipping Pull Ups

MEALS:

I love, love, love the positive feedback I get every time I post a weekly meal plan. (If you make anything from the meal plan, I love hearing about it!) Here’s this week’s meal plan at the Bailey house:

Monday: Turkey, Spinach, Sweet Potato Hash

Tuesday: Beef & Vegetable Stir Fry (We buy whatever veggies are on sale at the grocery store and whatever cut of beef we have in the freezer…very inexpensive meal!)

Wednesday: Lettuce Wrapped Burgers, garlic-roasted potato wedges

Thursday: Chili Lime Chicken Thighs (the recipe is for wings, but we have thighs on hand), steamed broccoli, coconut-fried rice (I use coconut oil and coconut aminos instead of vegetable oil and soy sauce!)

Friday: Homemade Hawaiian Pizza on a Cauliflower Pizza Crust

It’s my birthday weekend and we will most likely be eating out and celebrating all weekend—so eating clean is especially important to me this week. Besides the dinner meals listed above, most of my breakfasts will be eggs and hearty green smoothies and my lunches will be huge kale/spinach salads.

Have a beautiful, amazing, incredible day!
