Today’s post is short and sweet but I PROMISE it’s worth reading.
#1) Ever heard that fruit makes you fat? In theory, it doesn’t if you eat it at the right time:
- Eat it in the morning! Fruit is quickly digested as compared to protein/fat so you’re going to want to eat the quickest digesting food early so that it starts getting digested long before you eat the protein and fat.
- If you eat in reverse order and protein/fat is eaten early in the day and fruit later in the day, the fruit is basically just sitting in your stomach waiting to get digested while your body focuses on breaking down and digesting the protein/fat. This “sitting around in your stomach” time is when your body absorbs all the sugars and alcohols from fruit, thus unintentionally leading us to gain weight from our fruit!
- To me, this means that if I’m going to have one, I should always have my green smoothie as the first thing I eat in the morning! Watch the video where I learned this and 2 other helpful weight loss tips (all thanks to Sarah and Bex):
#2) I’m addicted to Marzetti Simply Dressed Champagne Dressing. It does not taste like champagne, but more like Olive Garden salad dressing. I crave salad allllll the time because of this stuff. Seriously, if you’re in the mood to try something new, this is the stuff. (I bought mine in the produce section at Publix during a buy one, get one free deal)
#3) Are you a side sleeper, back sleeper or a stomach sleeper? Which is the best position and the worst position for a restful, relaxed night of sleep? I found this Greatist article very interesting.
